My name is Benjamin Woo. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with my partner, Laurena Nash, and my cat, Hell’s Own Pollywog, and this is my web site.
I am currently working on a PhD dissertation on nerd culture in the School of Communication, SFU. I have an MA Communication (SFU) and a BAH Film Studies & Sociology (Queen’s).
I am a life-long comic-book enthusiast. I have published academic essays and articles on the subject and occasionally take a stab at producing comics myself. In this latter role, I have an affiliation with the mostly Vancouver-based comics collective, The Crown Commission. I have had stories published in The SPX 2004 Anthology and New Reliable Press’s You Ain’t No Dancer vol. 2.
